Membership of HPC is via a qualifying course with one of our gatekeepers. We currently have two gatekeepers. They are Clive Jones and Hugh Noblett (Cadence Driver Development).

Clive Jones

Until recently Clive was in charge of the South Wales Police Driving School and has completed his ADI.

Clive has a wealth of experience in driver training and will be a huge asset to the Club.

Cadence Driver Development

Cadence is run by Hugh Noblett, an instructor at the Hendon Police Driving school for 19 years and a former HPC Co-driver – Your humble webmaster joined HPC through Hugh in the early-90s. Cadence has a small team of coaches based around the country, all of whom are members of HPC and totally passionate about high performance driving. Rather than tearing your driving down and rebuilding it, Cadence concentrates on coaxing and cajoling an improved performance, using your skills and experience as a basis.

As well as on-road training for enthusiasts of both two and four-wheels, Cadence use off-road proving grounds such as Millbrook and Bruntingthorpe to develop your car control skills and build confidence in your abilities. They run introductory sessions for newcomers to track and sprint driving. They use the latest in data logging systems to quantify your performance and show you how to develop further, both on-road and on-track. They also run courses on vehicle handling, and data logging and analysis.
